Bringing HOPE to the Journey…

Do you know someone who is battling cancer right now? Are you battling cancer right now? Do you have loved ones in need of support? We want to partner with you. Cancer Companions @SPL welcomes potential participants who could benefit from this new ministry. The support group meets initially for nine sessions that will include both Bible study and loving, Christian support. The group will meet regularly on the first and third Tuesday of each month (6:30pm) in the Family Room at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Materials are provided.

CANCER COMES INTO OUR LIVES UNINVITED…

So, how can we manage this uninvited guest? James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you”. This verse best describes the vision of Cancer Companions, to provide a ministry for cancer patients, survivors, family members, and caregivers both within the church and in the community, where they are able to see God in the midst of their struggles with this life-changing diagnosis.

Cancer Companions is a new ministry housed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church comprised of a group of trained volunteers with the aim of providing those impacted by cancer a group environment with encouragement and emotional support in a Christian format. While we will begin with providing the support group, we aim to provide one-to-one individual support as well in the future.
