LADIES…it’s time to BLOOM
With all of the different demands of daily life and juggling the roles you may play, you may find it a challenge to make rest and renewal a priority in your life. Here is a chance for you to take a few hours of one day to deepen and nourish your roots, be covered by the warmth and light of the Holy Spirit, and to BLOOM in all of the ways God intended for you.
SPL Women’s Ministry invites you to Bloom Where You’re Planted on Saturday, May 5th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (Decatur, IL). We welcome our keynote speaker, Beth Schuette, along with several area teachers and leaders for a variety of breakout sessions. Childcare is also available (up to age 12) for those who may need it.
Doors open at 8:00am for registration/check-in and a gathering time with coffee, juice and continental breakfast. The Retreat begins at 9:00am with a time of welcome and praise and worship, leading up to the Opening Keynote with Beth Schuette. The day also includes two separate periods for breakout sessions and a salad luncheon (including prize giveaways). We conclude by 2:00pm, following our closing keynote and final time of praise and worship.
Tickets are $8.00 each. Registration is available in the Fellowship Area at SPL during weekend worship times, or at the Church Office during the week (8am-5pm Monday thru Friday). Please register by April 29th.
This is a great opportunity to connect across generations, learning and deepening your faith as you share your story with others. View the Church calendar or connect with SPL Women on Facebook for all of the latest offerings (sessions are seasonal).
You know Ruth’s story. Now meet her in person. And prepare to be changed. Walk with Ruth as she travels from Moab to Bethlehem, certain of her calling, yet uncertain of her future. Hold Naomi’s hand and watch love put the pieces of her broken life back together. And hang out with Boaz, their kinsman-redeemer, who blesses both women and honors God, big time.
With best-selling author Liz Curtis Higgs by your side, you’ll tarry in the corners of their homes, listen to their conversations, and consider every word of every verse until you can say, “I totally get the book of Ruth. And I see what God is trying to teach me through this rags-to-riches redemption story—he has a plan for my life.”
Girl, does he ever! Think of it as time travel without gimmicks, gizmos, or a DeLorean: a novel approach to Bible study that leaps from past to present, gleaning timeless truths that will draw you nearer to the One who knows you fully, loves you completely, and holds you close to his heart.
Join us for “The Girl’s Still Got It” a study of the Book of Ruth. This study meets on Tuesdays (currently 10:30am – 12:00pm in the SPL Family Room). It is a 6-Session Study from Liz Curtis Higgs. There is a study guide for this course (received and payable at the first class meeting). Register to reserve your seat and study guide.
