A Working Prayer…

Colossians 3:23 reminds us, “Whatever you do, work at it with all of your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”

As we engage in our work each day, let us offer what we do up to the Lord as a form of our worship. We pray:

Lord, I offer you my work

I give you the disappointment I feel

I surrender my disillusionment

I confess my weakness

Reconnect me with You

I want to live again

To be fully alive

Stir in me a new song

May I sing for joy

Envision my mind

Equip my hands

Anoint my feet

Empower my voice

For Your service

and Your work

This day and everyday

And in those moments of our work, when we are not focused on the goodness that is before us or when we are not directed by You in our work, we confess and seek You in leading us on:

Eternal God, in whom we live and move and have our being, whose face is hidden from us by our sins, and whose mercy we forget in the blindness of our hearts: cleanse us from all our offenses, and deliver us from proud thoughts, vain desires, and selfish efforts, that with humble hearts we may draw near to You, confessing our faults, confiding in Your grace, and finding in You our refuge and strength; through Jesus Christ your Son.

May the Lord continue to lead you and bless you in your work each day!
