Freely Given – Mite Box Donations At Work

2021 LWML Mite Box Report

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is an official auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. For over 77 years, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions.

One project the LWML is known for is the Mite Box program. Based on the Biblical account of the widow’s mite (Luke 21:1–4), the Mite Box is intended for regular contributions of “mites” — freely given offerings for the purpose of reaching out to others with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Mite Box contributions fund district and national mission grants and implement the LWML program.

Thank you to all SPL members who donated to the LWML Mite Box recently. So many mission projects were completed because of the gracious donations to the Mite Box during the Fiscal Year April 2020 – April 2021. The total received here at St. Paul’s was $156.11! Praise God! Your pennies add up!

One of the mission projects that received a grant for $100,000 was The LAMP ministry in Canada. This grant is used to train volunteer missionaries to travel by aircraft to bring God’s Word into isolated areas. The National LWML reported that their goal for 2019-2021 was $2,100,000. Thanks to the Mite Box donations throughout all the LWML organizations, $2,204,724.55 was received. What a blessing!

Please continue to use your LWML Mite Box throughout the year and pick up a new one at SPL when you need one. Give with Gladness.
