MISSION INDIA

A mission agency that doesn’t send missionaries? Mission India does not send Western missionaries. Instead, we train and equip local Indian Christians. They know the languages, the customs, and the dangers in their own areas. This method is efficient and effective. Local Christians are already in place, ready to begin work. They are trained to teach the Bible and form clusters of new disciples that reproduce and expand. Mission India focuses prayerfully on results that can be measured. We strive for the highest standards of accountability as we assemble our reports. Mission India partners with national Indian missions, mainline denominations, churches and Christian outreach organizations. They represent the finest, most respected mission-minded groups throughout India. Many have partnered with us for 25 or even 30 years. They look to us for training, and resources in 22 of India’s major languages. We also provide systems of accountability and oversight.

LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF

Every day in 50 countries, Lutheran World Relief works to combat the causes of poverty and the dignity it robs from people’s lives. They advocate for fair trade to help farming families earn a better income. They teach people to better care for themselves, their communities, and the environment. They teach people how to be less vulnerable to natural disasters and advocate with and for them for policy change that more fairly represents them. They provide counseling for them after manmade and natural disasters, and help them recover with material aid. All of this is achieved exclusively with partners from the communities they serve. Their partners help them remain incredibly efficient and effective; partners that help people help themselves…for a day when they won’t need help at all.

LUTHERAN WOMEN’S MISSIONARY LEAGUE

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML), with a membership of over 250,000, is the official women’s organization of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod The LWML focuses on affirming each woman in her relationship with Christ to enable her to be in ministry among the people of the world. For over 60 years the organization has been encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to financially support global missions.

LUTHERAN BIBLE TRANSLATORS

Founded in 1964, Lutheran Bible Translators is an independent mission organization dedicated to helping bring people to faith in Jesus Christ by making the Word of God available to those who do not yet have it in the language of their hearts. In the world today there are over 6,800 languages. Over 4,500, or 66%, still have no portion of Scripture. LBT believes that no language or cultural barrier should prevent people from having access to God’s Word. That is why LBT works with Lutheran church bodies and Bible translation organizations worldwide– so that every person has the opportunity to read, hear, and understand God’s Good News in the language of their hearts. LBT recruits Lutherans to become missionaries to serve as Bible translation advisors and consultants, or as specialists in literacy, literature development, language survey and vernacular media. Support workers are recruited and sent to carry out specialized tasks such as tutoring missionary children or using computers to strengthen the language programs.
