F3: Family Faith Formation (F3)
Family. Faith. Formation. Three simple words. Separately they often fall short of our expectations. Together, they provide the power to transform lives.
Family is Important to God
Whether your family is a nuclear family, a mixed family, a single parent family, or the greater family of God, spending quality time together is vital. The more time and the more activities a family shares, the stronger that family becomes. F3 joins children, youth, parents, singles, and older adults together in a Christ-centered learning and fellowship environment that grows life-long, passionate, disciples of Jesus Christ.
Faith is Required by God
Faith is required by God. Faith can be described not only as believing God’s promises but also as the human response to divine activity. Throughout the Bible we see great things accomplished and people’s lives changed forever through the power of faith. F3 provides a structured environment where everyone can respond to what God is doing in their lives by growing and strengthening their faith through worship, study, and Godly relationships.
Formation is Essential to God
Just as children are expected to grow, learn, and develop, we too, as Christians, regardless of age, are expected to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior”. We would never dream of sending our children to school for only one or two hours a week. Spiritual formation requires time, effort, and commitment. F3 helps you make it a priority in your life and the life of your family.
We all have choices and decisions to make in our lives and we make them based on our priorities. It’s that simple. Make a decision to set aside some time for your family, for your faith, and for God. Make it your weekly healthy habit.
**Due to COVID-19, the Fall Session of F3 has been modified to include both in-person and online class participation options for select classes (where able) on Wednesdays, and classes begin at 6:00 PM (note time change). Dinner is NOT available during this session. Childcare IS available for children (up through 4th grade) for in-person classes. SPL Youth (Gr. 7-12) meets in The Loft and SPL Kids Gr. 5/6 meets in the Dining Room at SPL from 6:00-7:30 PM. Bible Study takes place in the Worship Center from 6:00-7:00 PM and is available online at spldecatur.online.church during that time. This session runs through November 18th.
F3: Family-Faith-Formation is normally offered seasonally at SPL – Fall, Winter, and a modified Spring schedule (usually following Easter). Classes meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm and a dinner is offered in our Dining Room at 5:30pm (free will offering encouraged). Courses are offered for every age level and experience, encouraging us to meet Christ as we improve the health of essential areas of our lives and Love God, Build the Home, and Change the World. Registration for classes is available in the weeks prior to the beginning of classes via our Forms and Registrations site.
