On Sunday, December 17th during the 10:30am worship service, the SPL Kids will be leading worship in our 3rd annual Children’s Christmas Worship.

For this service, we are looking for the following roles:

• Nativity: Shepherds, Angels, Mary, Joseph, Animals
• Children’s Choir (singing and dancing/signing)
• Ushers/Greeters
• Speaking & Reading Parts (no memorizing needed)
• Family Singing

Nativity

Sign up in the fellowship area then arrange to pick up your costume before the 17^th and wear an outfit the costume can easily be worn over. Attend rehearsal in the Sanctuary on Sunday, Dec. 17^th at 9:00am.

Children’s Choir (singing, dancing/signing)

All children who attend SPL Kids (Sunday Education or SPL Kids Worship) will practice the children’s choir parts at the following times (you do NOT have to attend all these – please try to attend 2):

• Saturday, December 2^nd during SPL Kids Worship
• Saturday, December 9^th during SPL Kids Worship
• Sunday, December 3^rd during SPL Kids Worship
• Sunday December 10^th during Sunday Education & SPL Kids Worship
• Required Rehearsal: Sunday, December 17^th 9:00-10:30am (Sanctuary)

Ushers/Greeters  

Sign up in the fellowship area and attend the final run-through on Sunday, December 17^th at 9:00am in the Sanctuary.

Speaking & Reading Parts (no memorizing needed)

Sign up in the fellowship area. I will email you your part. Practice it at home and attend the final rehearsal on Sunday, December 17^th at 9:00am in the Sanctuary.

Family Singing

Attend at least one of these four rehearsals in addition to the final rehearsal on Sunday, December 17^th at 9:00am in the Sanctuary (the Wednesday’s are prior to Advent Worship):

• Wednesday, November 29^th: 6:00-6:25pm in the choir room (next to the nursery)
• Wednesday, December 6^th: 6:00-6:25pm in the choir room (next to the nursery)
• Wednesday, December 13^th: 6:00-6:25pm in the choir room (next to the nursery)
• Sunday, December 10^th 9:30-9:50am in room 206.

We will learn the closing song of our worship time with some motions. I would love to see many families participate in this special song. It will be a fun way to close our worship service together!

Family Sharing

Our service on December 17^th will include a time of family sharing. We will select a few families to share during the service as well as several which we will share in the bulletin or on slides before the service. Please consider sitting down with your family to answer the following questions (you do not have to answer all questions):

1. What does “Love All” mean to you?
2. When has someone shown you or your family unexpected love? What did this mean to you?
3. When has your family shown unexpected love to another person or family? What did this experience mean to you?
4. What is your favorite scripture passage about love?
5. What difference does it make to your family, knowing that God loves you?

Please handwrite or type up your answers and turn in to the church office or email to jennifer@spldecatur.org by December 5^th.

Family Gift

If your family is participating in this service, please bring a gift for our Advent Conspiracy Project (Backpack project for Bags of Hope Kids) including items such as handmade cards, gift cards to fast food restaurants, oatmeal packets, ramen noodle cups, mac and cheese cups, granola bars, fruit cups/applesauce, or other Bags of Hope food items. We will bring these gifts forward (they can be wrapped or unwrapped) to place in the manger during the service.

Dress

All participants should plan to wear Christmas Best. If you are in the nativity, please make sure your costume can fit easily and quickly over your Christmas Best.

Final Rehearsal

All participants and families should plan to attend the final rehearsal on Sunday, December 17^th at 9:00am in the Sanctuary. Please be there on time, dressed, and ready to rehearse. Parents, please suggest children use the restroom prior to 9:00am.
