In just a few weeks, you can gather together with your classmates, friends, and neighbors for ROAR! Life is Wild, God is Good – this year’s Vacation Bible School at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Our SPL Kids team is excited to welcome you here June 10-14 from 9:00am-12:00pm daily. Now is a great time to make a plan to participate and connect with us to register, but before you do that you may have a few questions. Here is everything you need to know about VBS 2019!

WHY VBS MATTERS

VBS is a special time of the year where we dedicate our whole building to children. Jesus says the kingdom of God belongs to little children and that those who welcome and care for children are welcoming Jesus Himself. We want to welcome Jesus by welcoming His precious little ones during VBS. Our goal is to share the love of God with every person who walks in the door. We would love to have YOUR family be a part of this special week!

THE BASICS

Here is the main information you may want to know about VBS 2019:
Dates: June 10th-14th, 2019
Time: 9:00am-12:00pm (Daily)
Participant Guidelines: 3 years old (by June 10th, must be potty trained) – entering 5th Grade (Fall 2019)
VBS Serve Team: Entering 6th Grade (Fall 2019) – Adults (Nursery care provided ONLY for Volunteers’ children under 3)

REGISTRATION

How to Register:
1. SPLDECATUR.ORG and click on “Registrations” to access Participant and Serve Team Registration Forms
2. Register at the SPL Kids table in the Fellowship Area during weekend worship times.
3. Call the SPL Church Office at 217-423-6955 (M-F 8am-5pm)

Walk-in registrations are allowed, but pre-registration is highly recommended.

COST

There is no cost to attend VBS, however, all participants and volunteers are given a t-shirt and are invited to donate to offset the cost. T-Shirts cost us roughly $5/shirt. Donation can be given online (with registration) or with cash/check at the VBS table in the Fellowship Area. Donations are completely optional.

MUSIC CDS are available for a donation of $5.00 each.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

During the week of VBS, children are invited to bring the listed items to support Decatur Kids Bags of Hope and to bring spare change to support PawPrint Ministries.

• Microwavable Mac N Cheese Packets
• Granola Bars (no nuts please)
• Juice Boxes (100% juice)
• Applesauce/Fruit cups
• Ramen Noodles
• Toaster Pastries
• Oatmeal Packets

PAWPRINT MINISTRIES (COMFORT DOGS)

On Thursday, June 13th, PawPrint Ministries will be bringing Comfort Dogs for the Elementary Participants. Preschoolers will not participate. Alternative activity is provided for children who cannot be around dogs (please indicate if your child cannot be around dogs in the space provided on the registration form).
