WELCOME!
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is excited to welcome Pastor Eric Trickey and his family to Decatur!
After days of driving across many states, and with a stop in St. Louis, the Trickey family has officially arrived safely here to their new home. The family of St. Paul’s is so excited to welcome them!
While it is of course bittersweet to leave California and the St. Mark’s family behind, Pastor Eric shares our excitement and he has been looking forward to being a part of the SPL family. One of the first things he connected with here was our mission statement, “Build the Home, Change the World”. He stands firm in the belief that building strong families is so very important, and we need to do all we can to be successful in making this happen. Pastor Eric recognizes in his own faith walk that time is precious – it is up to him and to us to maximize every little moment for the Lord and in serving Him. Together, we can continue to make a positive impact for Christ in the Decatur community.
As they have just arrived, the Trickey family will spend a few days getting settled and celebrating Christmas in their new home. Pastor Eric will be officially installed as Senior Pastor at St. Paul’s in a single celebration worship service on Sunday, December 27th at 10:00am in our sanctuary. The service will be followed by a meet and greet opportunity and a reception luncheon in our Fellowship Area. (The church will provide fried chicken and drinks – we ask all attending to please bring a side dish to share.) There will NOT be other regular worship services conducted on December 26th or 27th. We hope all who can attend will celebrate with us and help us to warmly welcome the Trickeys to the St. Paul’s family.
Pastor Eric will be in worship with us and will deliver the message during the weekend of January 2/3 as we continue in our year of worship (“Be Changed…Be the Change”) and embark on our next series “Simple Changes”. We will resume our regular worship schedule at that time, with services on Saturday at 6:00pm and Sunday at 8:00am & 10:30am.
