Come together to pack Shoebox Gifts for Operation Christmas Child!
As we gather together with family and friends, though near or far, may our focus not just be on the activities of the day or meal being served. May we not be solely focused on a family issue or a football game or parade. Let us take the time to give thanks for all that God has done for us, for all He has given – for the blessings AND the challenges, without which we would not grow.
Take a moment for a prayer such as this:
Help Me Thanksgiving Day Prayer
O God, when I have food,
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work,
help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a home,
help me to remember those who have no home at all;
When I am without pain,
help me to remember those who suffer,
And remembering,
help me to destroy my complacency;
bestir my compassion,
and be concerned enough to help;
By word and deed,
those who cry out for what we take for granted.
Amen.
