The Only Man in the World

A couple of weeks ago, I linked to a Gary Thomas blog post written with husbands in mind titled “The Only Woman in the World”. This post cautioned men on the dangers of comparing their wives to other women and how doing so is a recipe for discontentment. When God created Eve, Adam had no other women with whom to compare her. She was the standard of beauty for Adam and the only woman he knew. If men viewed their wives as Adam viewed Eve, how much happier we would be!

I thought it would be appropriate to link to his blog from last week, a follow up titled “The Only Man in the World”. As you may guess, this one is for wives. From the link provided here (just click on the titles), you can access other Gary Thomas blogs as well. If there are men reading this you can also access “The Only Woman in the World” blog if you missed it.

If you are married, read the respective post for husbands or wives and talk with your spouse about it. How did it make you feel? How do you struggle in this area? What are some ways you could improve? I hope reading the blog and talking about it with your spouse will truly be a blessing to you.

Yours in Christ,

Jarvis Howe
